All That Jazz bringing professional vocal jazz musicians to work with students and perform

Jazz vocalists from Miami and Boston will headline All That Jazz Feb. 23-24 in Jefferson.

Kate Reid of the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music and Charlie Christenson of Berklee School of Music will work with Greene County’s Ram Jive Thursday evening, Feb. 23. During the day Friday, Feb. 24, they’ll do 40-minute clinics with jazz choirs from Perry, Kuemper of Carroll, Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson, Waukee Northwest, Spirit Lake, Storm Lake, Des Moines Roosevelt, ADM and MVAOCOU.

All That Jazz will conclude with a concert featuring Greene County Ram Jive, and featured guests Reid and Christenson. Complete bios of Reid and Christenson are available at https://sites.google.com/greenecountycsd.net/gchs-vocal-music/all-that-jazz

“I feel this is an event that is made possible by our new facilities,” Greene County choir director Dave Heupel said. “I know the hope was that with this new auditorium we could bring in nationally sought after performers, and this fits that description exactly.”

There is a $10 admission charge for the Friday evening concert.
